RFP D/B - Lump-sum, Fixed Price Airport Hangar Design-Build Project

Project overview

Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Newton, Kansas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 30,000-square-foot transportation facility. Design and construction of a new aircraft hangar including surveying, geotechnical investigation, architectural and engineering design, permitting, utility coordination, construction, commissioning, and closeout. For bidders to be eligible, each bidder needs to request the bid documents directly from the City of Newton. The Project consists of the design and construction of a new approximately 30,000 square foot clearspan pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) aircraft hangar (approximately 135' x 223') with approximately 3,000 square feet of attached support space (approximately 85'-4"" x 35'), together with an airfield apron, a parking lot, a taxiway connection, site grading and drainage, and utility services to the building. The hangar will house and support large business-jet-class aircraft (tail heights under 29 feet). The support space will include two ADA restrooms, mechanical storage, and a fire pump room (assumed required, to be confirmed in design). The remaining support space will be left as unfinished shell space for a future office build-out that is not part of this Project. Enclosed are specifications and other pertinent documents necessary to respond to this invitation. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope using the Bid Form provided. Each sealed envelope containing a BID must be plainly marked on the outside as ""Lump-sum, Fixed Price Airport Hangar Design-Build"" and the envelope should bear on the outside the name of the Bidder and their address
